Our bodies are mountains made up of sheets Contagious and constantly swirling I couldn’t hear much but the hum of the fan The kitchen floor’s cold and I want to go home If it rains tomorrow I swear that I’m gone Driving the streets the snow melts on You don’t have to repeat what you said It sent chills down my spine the first time “I hope you forget me when I die”

You/I 03:47
Pine cones fall every day Morning dew comes and goes away You’ll live either way People change every day Mocking birds come and fly away I’ll remain either way I want you coming out my nose When I laugh spilling out my mouth Part of me partly you Grafted on bearing fruit In the evening light You looked a thousand miles high In the morning glow I looked a million years old You read my letters out to me In the coolness of the morning And pressed your ring against my lips In soothing conversation Save yourself a slip of the tongue Let your glance imply it If something ever should go wrong Later then deny it When they pull the marble from the water Will they call us lovers? Unashamed I say your name— Alexander—to my mother

Drowsy light falls into my eyes Like waking from a dream These memories come back to me: I used to see angels in my backyard Moving through the trees Their voices were comforting Floating to the train tracks On the ridge of the mountain We bobbed like the robins In puddles around us Like pine needles caught in the cracks of the sidewalk The rain made them glisten The rain made a river Then I walked alone To the edge of the pond I saw visions in the water And returned with eyes cast down I saw warm yellow light dripping Darkness in the East rising up Consumed by the Spirit

about

I Know I'm Still Afraid is the second EP by Signs Following. Like the previous EP, these songs are interested in the concepts of memory, loss, and the ways we live on after death. This set of songs, however, takes a deeper dive into mysticism, personal identity, and different modes of love.
